Dear Beauty and fashion lovers,
Many people wonder what color makes their skin look the best. Its very understandable since we all want to look our best no matter what the situation is. So how one will work best for you do you figure out which one will work for you? Here's how!
Look at you arm and really study the under tone of your skin. There are many different kinds, such as neutral (your undertones match your skin tone very well, but this one is rare), Warm tones ( yellow or golden undertone to your skin), and Cool tones ( you have a blueish or pinkish undertone).
You can also figure out what colors will look the best on you by seasons, this is by far the easiest way.
The spring palette is for those who have creamy ivory skin , peach beige, or warm beige skin tones. Their hair is a light to dark blonde, strawberry blonde, golden brown or copper. Their eye colors are blue-green, topaz, aqua, golden brown, golden green, and hazel. Spring women look best in peach, apricot, coral, orange- red, ivory, camel, medium brown, warm or yellowed navy, purple, aqua, yellow-green, and warm turquoise. The spring palette is very fresh and full of life.
Summer girls have skin tones such as fair, pinkish, pale beige, rose toned beige, and light olive. Their hair is light to dark brown, ash blonde or gray. Their eyes are gray-blue, gray- green, aqua, and soft hazel. They look best in lavender, plum, mauve raspberry, blue-green, soft white, pastel pink, mint, and clear yellows. Think pastels when your thinking of this season. I love being a summer because pastels are just my favorite! Try my personal favorite, periwinkle, too!
Autumn is the spicy season. Autumn girls have golden, ivory, peach, warm beige, copper cast, or chocolate. Their color is brunette with red or gold highlights, golden blonde, red or auburn. Their eyes are dark brown, golden green, hazel, or turquoise. These spicy chica's look best in brown, nutmeg, rust, cinnamon, burnt orange, bronze, terra-cotta, olive, army green, teal blue, deep periwinkle, beige, camel, salmon, tomato red, and pumpkin. Wow does that sound like a spice Cabinet or what!
Winter babes have porcelain, snowy cream, rose beige, light to dark olive or black. Their hair colors are dark brown, charcoal, reddish black, blue- black, and white. Their eye colors are deep blue, dark brown, and gray- green. They look best in very red, lemon yellow, sky blue, black, white, gray, icy pastels, true navy, royal blue, shocking pink, deep emerald, and fuchsia. Theses winter girls totally remind me of snow white!
I hope that this helps you with determining which color will look best on you. Remember that Summer and Winter girls can share colors. I hope that you can strut your stuff now that you know which color compliments your skin the best. Hope you have an amazing day!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland: a Nail Tutorial
Dear Beauty and Fashion lovers,
Today I have a nail tutorial for you all. I really couldn't think of anything to blog, but then I was like "I should do my nails" so here it is!
Step 1:
Remove any nail polish that was previously on your nails with a non- acetone nail polish remover. I'm using the Up&Up brand.
Step 2:
Now apply a frosty blue shade over your entire nail. Here I'm using Caribbean Frost by Wet 'n' Wild. Do two coats to make it opaque.
Step 3:
Once the coats are completely dry, put tape of the top third of your nail. Keep in mind that you need to have room for the other colors your going to apply next (:
Step 4:
Apply a periwinkle blue over top of your nail and over the tape. Do as many coats as you need to make it opaque. The nail polish I'm using here is Bikini So Teeny by Essie.
Step 5: Once the nail polish is all dry, apply tape over your nail just like in step 3.
Step 6:
Apply a very pale silvery blue all over your taped nail. The color should be completely opaque.
Step 7:
Once your nails are dry, apply a glittery white nail polish over top. I like to do two coats to really amp up the glitter factor (;
The thing that really pulls this look together is the glittery topping. Its like frosting on a cupcake!
Step 8:
Lastly apply a top coat over the glitter to really lock in the polish and glitter.
Hope you enjoy!

How dark is too dark?
Dear Beauty and fashion lovers,
I admit it, I have lighter skin especially in the colder winter months and sometimes its hard for me to grasp the fact that I have to tone down darker eye makeup. Why? Because it will make you look even paler. How do you tone down your darker makeup that you love?I'll tell you how. Here are some ideas for your favorite darker makeup trends and how to work them in the winter.
Eyeliner: Take a pale color like white or a vanilla shade and apply it along your waterline. Go back forth with this pale color a couple times until you have have a stronger pigmentation. Next take your favorite dark eyeliner pencil and go over the pale shade a couple times as well. Take a Q-tip and blend in. Tada!
Lips: Taking your favorite lip balm , mine's Burt's Bees, apply generously over your lips. Next take your dark lip color and apply with feathered strokes. Apply a shiny gloss over top and blend the lips in. Your favorite dark lip stick should look lighter and easier to wear.
Cheeks: Of course buying a lighter blush would work, but if you have a tight budget this tip will help you. Taking a fluffy brush, swirl it around in your blush for about a second. Tap off excess and smile big while you apply. Still too dark? Take a skin tone colored powder and apply just as you applied the blush.
Face: Your foundation too dark? Try moisturizing before applying and if nothing else works, go buy the correct shade from the store. Its smart to have two kinds of the same foundation, one for summer and the other for winter, that way you won't have to think about it when the seasons change.
I hope you found my tips helpful and that it you always remember that its whats on the inside that counts! Have an amazing day!

Asian BB creams and others: a comparison
Dear Beauty and Fashion Lovers,
Many people are falling in love with BB creams because they are a perfect combination of foundation, skincare, moisturizer, and coverage. A frequently asked question is if there is any difference between the Asian BB Creams and our regular L'Oreal, Maybelline, Cover girl, Garnier, etc. brands BB Cream. To answer that ever present question, yes there is a difference between Asian BB creams and other kinds. So while the kinds that you can get at a drugstore are nice and wonderful, Asian BB creams go above and beyond!
Asia has many different companies that make BB creams, like Holika, and Skin79 just to name a few. My personal favorite one is Dream Girls by Skin79. The cool thing about Asian BB creams, is that they have so many options for different skincare needs. For instance, the Dream Girls BB cream has an SPF( Sun Protection Factor) of 30, it reduces redness, and balances out your skin tone The Skin care element of it is that it soothes your skin and it makes your skin more beautiful. I love these products and I highly recommend them.
The BB creams that have just recently rocked our shores have some of these similar qualities but not all.of them. One of my favorites and the one most like Asian creams is the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB. It has close to the same texture and skin care elements as well. It has amazing coverage for its price and it is very lightweight. Another that has a similar quality is the Garnier BB cream. Most of the BB creams don't have as moisturizing of a texture or the amazing coverage or skincare elements that it should. If you can, try to get one that has a smaller amount of chemicals in it, so your skin isn't treated to harshly.
Now that you have heard the differences the choice is yours. Either one you choose, keep in mind that they all have different properties to them that are admirable and don't break your bank for one either. If you need help finding sites that sell Asian BB creams, I'll put a link at the bottom of this post. Until next time, remember to love yourself the way you are,
Gracie
